Sometimes a picture says a thousand words to a mom...

Carson: How high can I climb for this picture, Mom? I like being up in a tree!
McClain: How about you just hold me real careful here, Mom! I love you and will give you my best sweet smile but don't let go!
Cloe: I'll wear anything for school spirit week...including my brother's size 2 camo shirt. Give me a bow and some ruffles...I can make anything feel like a princess outfit!

Cookies: Sure wish this lady would figure out how to make cookies. We just run like thin pancake batter all over the pan.
Cookies: Wait! Did she figure this out? Could it be? Are we yummy cookies? For real? Yay!!!

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
(Thanks to this sweet mom for sharing her awesome recipe!)

  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour (add 1/4 to 1/2 extra if cookies run all over the pan)

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 tablespoons milk

  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 2 1/2 cups quick or old-fashioned oats

  • 2 cups (12-oz. pkg.) chocolate chips

  • PREHEAT oven to 375° F.

COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat brown sugar, butter and granulated sugar in large mixer bowl until creamy. Beat in eggs, milk and vanilla extract. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in oats, morsels and nuts; mix well. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.

BAKE for 9 to 10 minutes for chewy cookies or 12 to 13 minutes for crispy cookies. Cool on baking sheets for 1 minute; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Remember to follow baking instructions before consuming. *See, the recipe says so...don't eat cookie'll kill ya...that's what I keep telling's working...
