Happy Fourth of July!

Forget the apple pie...
We celebrated the 4th with
...and more cookies!
 ...and more cookies!
For all you like-minded, overly-protective moms,
I finally found the *perfect* person to share fireworks with our kids:
a fireman!
We went to a little birthday/holiday picnic at the house of a sweet young couple from our church.
The husband is a fireman and did sparklers with the kids.
A good tip:  have a big bucket of water near for the dead ends or for the scared child that needs to drop it quickly!
The kids had a blast!

The party was bitter sweet for our family.
We had planned to celebrate the 25th birthday of our brother-in-law Cory.
Just three weeks ago he was diagnosed with
recurring Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Yes, for the second time.

We all love Uncle Cory!
(Who wouldn't love an uncle that let's you sit and play on his Harley?)

On Saturday, he had some complications and had to spend his birthday in the hospital.

Would you please pray for Cory?

He is such a fun loving, caring uncle that my children adore...and we do too!

Please pray for healing in his body,
peace for he and Calli (Cody's younger sister),
and for their love of our Savior
to be strong and shine during this time.

We're praying that God will bring him through this cancer so we'll be able to celebrate with him and hear these words once  again:

We are praying for Cory - he's Joel's cousin, so we're practically related, me and you! So much for a young man to go through - and such a great guy at that! Thanks for sharing this request!

Your cookies are gorgeous! :)

Please give us updates on Cory. Praying!
And, please give us a cookie tutorial one of these days. I would love to have a cookie decorating lesson from you!
