Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Homemaker Monday

Happy Monday!  The kids are safely home and life quickly resumed back to "normal'...laundry, cooking, dr. appointments, homework, errands, and more snow.  haha!

The weather.....
Well, if it can't be warm, at least it's pretty!

Right now I am....
Enjoying a cup of Blueberry Bliss tea, listening to the swishing of the dishwasher, and waiting for Cody to get home from basketball.

There are a lot of things on my mind--nothing overwhelming, just life!  Morning is going to come super early as we're taking Maddox in to get the infection flushed out of his right ear.  Poor kid!  He really can't catch a break!  The pediatrician thinks that all the teeth he's cutting could be causing the constant ear fluid/infection.  I'm thankful that we're not having to give him antibiotics this time!  My goal tomorrow is to figure out a chiropractor or someone that can maybe help his ears drain on their own because the tubes don't seem to be cutting it.  Any tips???

I'm also trying to figure out other ways to help Cloe with double digit multiplication and division.  We do not share gene makeup in the math department!  I thrive on graph paper and columns...she thrives on abstract mental math and steps I've never seen before.  She's doing great at math, but the newer concepts are stressing her out a bit.

I'm super excited to take another cooking class tomorrow night with a chef from our church.  She sets up fantastic cooking demonstrations in homes, and we get to watch or help out.  It's such a fun night with friends!

On my reading pile....
I have a new Martha Stewart that's getting tucked into my purse a fun early-morning read!

On my TV.....
The news--my hometown lost it's first soldier in Afganistan.  His funeral will be held tomorrow in the high school gym.  The town is decked out with 2,200 flags, and 6,000 flags will be passed out tomorrow to people as they line the streets for the motorcade to pass through on the way to the cemetery.  I'm so proud of the way my hometown is honoring this hero and his family.

She's selling copies of her photography and donating the proceeds to the family!

Favorite blog post last week (mine or other)....
We Are That Family had an AWESOME post on raising daughters in a world that devalues then and seven things we must tell them.  I seriously need this post printed out for daily review!  Good.stuff.
Luke Humbrecht posted a really thought-provoking read dealing with Gap-finders vs. Gap-standers.  I pray I'm willing to be molded into a gap-stander!

Blog hopping (newly discovered blog)....
I was checking out different paleo, vegan and real food recipes and stumbled upon Living Healthy with Chocolate.  Her recipes look yummy and intriguing, but her "about" tab lead me to her professional page--she's a professional kitesurfer who lives in Hawaii!  That's a life I'll never even have a glimmer of hope of experiencing!  Check out her photos and videos!  Wow!  SO cool!

On the menu for this week....
Monday:  Bangkok Curry...recipe to come soon!
Tuesday:  Grilled Ham and Cheese Sandwiches
Wednesday:  Pulled Pork at Willow Creek Cafe
Sunday: in the works!

On my to do list....
Cuddling a snuggly little boy...I hope!
Easter prep!

In the craft basket....
A few prints are ready for pick-up at Costco.  I love using mod-podge to mount them on canvas!

Looking forward to this week....
Easter!  Willow Creek has an amazing weekend planned!  If you are close by, please come!
Also looking forward to seeing our kids in their Easter duds!  A fun little box of Children's Place accessories arrived today!!!  They're all going to be cuter than a bug's ear!

Looking around the house....
Cody's home!  This post obviously is taking me too long!

From the camera....

Isn't this the way 99% of photography goes with toddlers?

On my prayer list.....
Maddox's ears
EASTER!  We've invited a lot of friends and teachers!
The rental house...still  (or pray for patience and some extra side jobs?)
New friends at Willow Creek--open hearts to the Gospel!

Bible verse, Devotional....
Key idea from 1 Kings 18-19:  God's plan for you, and your plan for you will match...when you keep your eyes on Jesus.  SO GOOD!  Listen here.

You have a lovely blog!
My family have been looking into paleo and if you are interested a great blog for recipes is Perrys Plate (you may have already found it!) She did a great series called Staying Whole in a Processed World. It's not my blog or anything I just think its great lol.
I hope your little one is feeling better soon!
Have a lovely week :)

Oh Londa - sorry to hear about Maddox and even the soldier news. It always breaks my heart, having a brother who was a soldier.

I need to learn about mounting pics on canvas! Tutorial?

Sorry about Maddox, sure hope you can find a solution so this problem isn't recurring, poor kiddo :(

Prayers for the soldier, being a military wife, it's just so hard to hear when one of our troops loses their life overseas. I find that their daily sacrifice far too often goes unnoticed.

Hope you have a fantastic rest of the week :)
